It is not right that almost 4 million children live in households that cannot afford to eat healthily, consigning the least well-off to a greater risk of diet-related illness, such as obesity and diabetes. In Bristol 73,400 people and 19,200 children live in the 10% most deprived areas of England.

Ending hunger is also about making sure all people – especially children – have access to sufficient and nutritious food all year round. I am deeply committed to working on practical action in Bristol that can alleviate hunger through my work with Feeding Bristol, and nationally with the Children’s Future Food Inquiry.
