I was pleased to attend the Alzheimer’s Society’s Memory Walk in Bristol this weekend, to help hand out medals to some of the 1,800 participants as they crossed the finish line – along with Thangam Debbonaire MP for Bristol West and Bristol Lord Mayor Cleo Lake.

Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer, with someone developing this devastating disease every three minutes. Most of those who took part have personal experience of dementia, some directly, some through family and friends. All the money raised at the event goes to help Alzheimer’s Society provide information and support, improve care, fund research and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. If you, or someone you know, has been affected by dementia and would like support, do contact the National Dementia Helpline on 0300 222 11 22 or visit alzheimers.org.uk
