Things – finally – seem to be moving when it comes to Brexit. I’m very happy to see Labour’s front bench throw its weight behind a People’s Vote, in line with the party’s conference policy, with Remain on the ballot paper. As many of you will know, I came to conclusion a few months ago that a People’s Vote is the only way I can see of breaking the Brexit impasse.

With only 32 days to go till exit day, an extension of Article 50 is absolutely necessary. It appears that the Prime Minister herself has also come to this conclusion. I’ll be supporting extending Article 50 in votes in the Commons this week, and again, I’m glad that the Labour Party leadership will be too. Obviously, Brexit remains a very fluid situation – stay tuned for further updates!
