Over the weekend the Environmental Audit Committee, which I am a member of, called the Government out for its “tacit acceptance” of oil and gas exploration in the Arctic.

The Government’s failure to protect our fragile Arctic environment from exploration is bitterly disappointing and completely flies in the face of our international commitments to tackle climate change, protect habitats and ensure sustainable development.
