I welcome the recent announcement from Labour, confirming that we will back Remain in any referendum on a Tory or No Deal Brexit, and that we favour holding a confirmatory referendum with a deal vs Remain in all circumstances.

I am supporting the Labour Remain campaign and have received many emails in the past week from party members and constituents who feel the same way. It’s clear any Brexit deal will leave us poorer, less safe, more isolated, and will threaten our Union.

Labour should not be afraid to champion our continued membership of the European Union; we should now say that we would campaign to Remain in any referendum and that we would not facilitate Brexit if elected to Government. Remain and reform is a far better option than trying to renegotiate a Brexit deal.
