It was a pleasure to visit May Park School this morning to give a talk to Year 6, where the pupils asked a great range of questions on topics like banning plastics, healthier food, Bristol Pride, and whether I agree with Boris Johnson – I don’t!

It is always good to see how conscientious young people are, and how much they care about protecting the planet. They were clearly very well-informed about plastic pollution and we had quite a discussion about more sustainable alternatives to plastic packaging.

One pupil raised the ecobrick scheme, which I hadn’t heard of until now, where waste is repurposed into construction materials, saving it from going to landfill. It’s a Bristol-based company behind it, so I hope that I can meet up with them soon and find out more!
