I popped in to visit the nursery this week. It’s one of many places across the city which is benefitting from the #HealthyHolsBristol scheme, being run by Feeding Bristol, which has already distributed more than 20,000 meals during the school summer holidays.

My visit also gave me the chance to catch up with staff. Early years provision is so important, as is the work that staff do with parents to make sure that children get all the support they need at home, and yet it is woefully under-funded. Many MPs have been making the case in Parliament for more investment in early years, and I will continue to do so when Parliament returns.
