Kerry McCarthy Labour MP for Bristol East
Over the weekend I was one of 113 cross-party MPs who called on the Prime Minister to recall Parliament from summer recess because of the imminent threat of a no-deal Brexit and the urgent need to scrutinise the Government’s actions.
I’m bitterly disappointed that our request has been rejected out of hand by Downing Street, particularly given the alarming details on food and medicines contained in the Government’s own no-deal preparations document, leaked on Sunday. Many more MPs have since signed this letter.
It’s clear to me that Ministers must be held to account now and everyday till October 31st and I’ll continue to be calling for #RecallNow.
