Yesterday, despite prorogation, I had the honour of hosting Ven Thupten Wangchen in Parliament. A member of the Tibetan parliament in exile, he is travelling through 30 European countries by car on his Dialogue for Peace Tour, covering more than 25,000 kms in just two months. The objective of the tour is to appeal to the European Union, politicians and supporters of Tibet to raise their voices and call for an urgent dialogue between Chinese authorities and envoys of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

I visited the Tibetan parliament in exile in Dharamsala in India in September last year, and it was a pleasure to welcome Ven Wangchen to my own parliament on this occasion.
