Council of Europe Samet speech

During yesterday’s Council of Europe session on human trafficking I raised the case of Samet, a local teenager who faces deportation to Albania. It’s shocking that the UK Government is willing to separate this young man from his foster parents and endanger his life by sending him to a country where he’s faced abuse. Unfortunately today we had really disappointing news, that Samet’s latest court application has been turned down. The petition calling for Samet to be allowed to stay in the UK now has more than 400,000 signatures.
