Sunday Politics West

Jacob Rees-Mogg recently said that people raising their valid concerns about coronavirus testing problems were ‘carping'. This callous response just confirms what we already know: the Government’s testing programme is collapsing, and Ministers are on the defensive. Here I am on BBC’s Sunday Politics West discussing the Government’s failure on testing.I’ve heard from lots of parents who have had children come home from school with possible coronavirus symptoms and who have either failed to book a test at all, or had to travel hundreds of miles to get one. Test results are going astray and only a third of people are getting their results within 24 hours. With 5 test centres across Bristol, plus a dedicated test site for NHS staff, it’s clear something’s going wrong here – and I’ll keep contacting the Department of Health until it’s sorted.
