Yesterday in the Commons I raised with the Prime Minister the very sad case of one of my constituents who, having lost two of her triplets during her pregnancy, was told that due to Covid-19 restrictions she would have to attend her 34 week scan alone.

Thankfully this case was resolved after local intervention, but I have heard from many women worried about the prospect of attending maternity appointments or – until recently – even being required to give birth alone.

I’ve written to the Department of Health directly to raise my concerns, and am glad that the Prime Minister has agreed to look into issues with partners attending scans. If you’re affected by this please do get in touch with me or your own MP, or you can contact www.pregnantthenscrewed.com for help.
