Today, in an early sign of Brexit chaos at our borders, Honda had to halt production due to delays at ports caused by stockpiling (because companies are worried about being able to get their supplies through come January) and Christmas trading. This will only get worse when the EU transition period ends on the 1st January and our borders are faced with a perfect storm of Covid restrictions and new customs checks for goods.
I asked Michael Gove if he was able to guarantee there would not be significant disruption at UK borders in January. He couldn’t do so. Watch here.
