Kerry McCarthy Labour MP for Bristol East
This week, local Covid-19 vaccination services run by GPs will open across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, as the roll-out of the biggest immunisation programme in NHS history gains momentum.
I’d like to thank the GPs and other primary care staff who’ve worked so hard to ensure that those most at risk are able to receive the vaccine first. There are four sites across the region that are starting to vaccinate, with a phased roll-out due to continue into the New Year. People aged 80 and over, as well as care home workers, will be the first invited to get the jab – everyone else in the local area should wait their turn to be called.
The sites administering vaccinations this week as part of the ‘Wave 1’ GP-led programme are:
Kingswood Health Centre, Kingswood, South Gloucestershire
Riverbank Medical Centre, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
Greenway Community Centre, Southmead, Bristol
Pudding Pie Lane Surgery, Langford, North Somerset
You can find out more about the vaccine via the NHS’ website: https://www.nhs.uk/…/coronavirus…/coronavirus-vaccine/.
