Happy International Women’s Day!

While we have seen some progress in recent years, there is still a lot more to be done to tackle discrimination, remove obstacles, challenge oppression and improve opportunities for women, both here and on an international scale.

One of the issues I’ve been campaigning on recently is making sure women had/ have full access to maternity services during Covid-19, and could be accompanied to appointments and scans.

Working with the campaign group, Pregnant Then Screwed, we managed to get the Department for Health to update its guidance and for local hospital trusts to confirm that they’d be allowing partners (or another supportive individual) to attend too.
