In my Budget speech this week I called for a bold, green recovery package as we emerge from the pandemic. We needed a clear plan now to decarbonise the economy, not least to show international leadership ahead of the COP26 climate conference later this year, but the Chancellor simply hasn’t delivered.

In contrast, Labour has set out our £30bn plan to create 400,000 new green jobs, and the Chancellor should learn from this. Sadly, he is clearly more focused on promotion for himself than on creating new green opportunities for everyone else.
