I’ve had over a dozen constituents contact me in desperate need of support after the recent collapse of Football Index, which represented, as The Athletic put it, “the biggest disaster to afflict British gamblers in history”. I’ve included below the response I provided.

Customers of Football Index were consistently misled, and allowed to continue to buy shares despite the company being fully aware in advance of its upcoming administration. Football Index concealed their monthly losses as customers became victims of negligence by the Gambling Commission and unwavering greed from the company itself.

A Government investigation has been launched, while the Chief Executive of the Gambling Commission is due to release an update soon. I’ll be keeping a keen eye on the outcome of each process to ensure I can help those that have been exploited to receive full redress.
