Today on #BackBritishFarmingDay, I called out the Tory MPs who claim to back British farming but don’t back up these words with actions when it counts.
Those same MPs repeatedly voted down amendments to Bills that would have protected British farming standards in law and given MPs a final say over trade deals.

Now, British farmers are being failed by this Government, which is desperately signing trade deals with nations like Australia, despite their poor farming standards, and undercutting our farmers at home.

Not only that, but this Government is also failing farmers by refusing to act to address supply chain shortages which have led to food rotting in fields – which is a moral and environmental disgrace.

I’m proud to be an MP that backs British farmers through my words and my actions in Parliament, and Tory MPs cannot say the same until they vote to protect British standards.
