Earlier this week I attended the “Neurology Now” event in Parliament, that was hosted by MS Society UK. 1 in 6 people in the UK are living with a neurological condition, and yet neurology services in the UK are seriously underfunded.

This campaign highlights the gaps within the system that mean people with neurological conditions can’t get the vital support they need. It’s a problem that has only become worse during the pandemic, as nearly a third of those with symptoms of MS (29%) had an appointment cancelled or delayed. It was very helpful to be able to talk to people with MS at the event, to hear their first hand experiences. We need a plan to restore neurology services and build a sustainable neurology workforce, so that they can get the early diagnosis and support they need
