Today at Prime Minister’s Questions I asked Boris Johnson about the Cost-of-Living Crisis. Many of our constituents are struggling to put food on the table or buy winter coats for their children. I contrasted this with the current row going on in Cabinet, with Jacob Rees-Mogg leading opposition to a ban on foie gras and fur imports.

It seems that Government Ministers will stick their necks out to oppose a ban on luxury products linked to animal cruelty, so that they can continue living the high life. But they’re not prepared to stand up to the Chancellor and oppose the upcoming rise in National Insurance or to challenge the Government’s totally inadequate response to rising energy bills. It says a lot about this out of touch Government and its priorities.
