It’s good to see the Justice Minister agree to meet cross-departmentally to discuss how youth housing policy can be improved – but this isn’t just about reducing reoffending.

When these young people are housed in inappropriate accommodation, often far away from their support networks, they’re too often left vulnerable to grooming, exploitation and abuse.

I’m pleased to have been invited to join the advisory committee for the Commission on Young Lives, which is a year-long piece of work led by former Children’s Commissioner Anne Longfield on preventing crisis among young people growing up in disadvantage.
