This week as the Government unveiled its new energy strategy, I asked the Secretary of State for BEIS if he was aware of the great progress we are making on tackling climate change in Bristol.

Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change and Net Zero, Ed Miliband, visited Bristol earlier this month to see the fantastic water source heat pump in Castle Park, which is providing low carbon heat to communities in the city.

The Castle Park heat pump is exactly the kind of green innovation we need to see across the UK. I am glad the Secretary of State is recognising Bristol’s role as a climate leader, and even agreed to visit and see for himself (I’ll do what I can to make sure he sticks to this promise!).
