#CarersWeek 2022 starts today, celebrating the work of the millions of unpaid carers across the UK who look after family and friends. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic the level of support provided by carers has been staggering but has often come at great cost to their own health and wellbeing.

This year’s Carers Week theme is ‘Make caring visible, valued and supported’. I have written to the Health and Social Care Secretary to back calls for a national Recovery and Respite Plan for unpaid carers.
