Demand for mental health services is surging and deaths by suicide are sadly at a record high. While specialist organisations that focus on suicide prevention like The CALMzone and PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide are often best-placed to connect with groups at highest risk, they’re largely reliant on charitable donations. The escalating economic crisis has put their funding, and their services, at risk.

While it’s good the Government is funding larger mental health charities like Samaritans, it also needs to step up and fund these specialist organisations which save so many lives each year.
