In my new role as Labour’s Shadow Minister for Climate Change I have written for PoliticsHome about Labour’s green vision for the future of the UK.

It’s been eight months since the UK hosted the COP26 climate summit, but precious time has been wasted since then by a Government with no commitment and no consistency when it comes to climate action. We’ve seen tax breaks for polluting fossil fuel investments, the scrapping of electric vehicle subsidies, and virtually nothing on insulating homes, which would lower energy bills and emissions.

This lack of leadership on the defining issue of our times simply isn’t good enough. That’s why Labour is setting out our ambitious alternative plan to invest £28bn per year in tackling the climate emergency, growing the green economy and helping make green choices the most affordable option.
