For my latest Bristol Post column, I’ve written about the tragic killings of British journalist Dom Phillips and indigenous rights activist Bruno Pereira in Brazil.

Dom, who lived in Bristol before moving to Brazil, had been working on a book about saving the Amazon rainforest when he was killed by those involved in destroying it.

Achieving true justice for Dom and Bruno goes beyond just identifying their killers. It means acting to stop the destruction of the Amazon and ending violence against those who are trying to protect it.

I will continue pushing in Parliament for the Government to do all it can to stamp deforestation-linked goods out of UK supply chains and to stand up to the Brazilian Government over the environmental catastrophe occurring in its own back yard.
