You can watch a clip here of the speech I gave earlier today on the situation in Iran and the barbaric treatment of protestors there.
As I said in my speech: “𝘞𝘦’𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺. The Foreign Secretary has announced a wave of sanctions and been clear that the UK opposes human rights abuses. But unless we do more, the executions will continue. I called for independent access to trials, a moratorium on executions, and proper accountability for the Iranian regime.
