It was a pleasure to welcome Sangeetha (who lives in my constituency) to parliament last week for Ask Her to Stand Day. Organised by 50:50 Parliament, the purpose of the day is to encourage and support women to stand for political office both locally and nationally. Sangeetha, who teaches and mentors children in Bristol, as well as coaching athletics, previously shadowed me as part of OBV, and she never fails to inspire me. Here we are at a Climate Coalition event to celebrate 10 years since the Climate Change Act and to show our support for a target of net zero emissions before 2050.
