A long day in Parliament yesterday as I stayed in the chamber until 10pm to speak in an important adjournment debate on Orkambi, a precision medicine that could be life-changing for 50% of those who suffer from cystic fibrosis in the UK but is not yet available on the NHS.

It is good to see cross-party collaboration on this issue, which will hopefully go some way to persuading the pharmaceutical company Vertex, the Department for Health and Social Care, and NHS England to resume negotiations and agree on a deal which prioritises the lives of patients over financial interests.
