Kerry McCarthy Labour MP for Bristol East
Theresa May’s botched Brexit deal has been rejected again by MPs, this time with a majority of 149 voting. Twice now the Govt has been massively defeated on a central plank of its policy. Any other PM would by now have resigned.
It’s clear that in order to avoid a disastrous no-deal Brexit, Article 50 needs to be extended. The only way to break this impasse is by giving the public a final say on whether they do want to leave the European Union through a public vote.
