Kerry McCarthy Labour MP for Bristol East
I recently attended and contributed to a debate on the shocking decline of insects across the world. The debate was sparked following a scientific review that showed plummeting insect numbers threaten a “catastrophic collapse of nature’s ecosystems”. As it stands, more than 40% of species are declining and a third are endangered. I focused my remarks on the role of the agrochemicals industry and the need for a more agroecological approach to farming to protect our pollinators. You can read more about the review at this link.
