The charity Feeding Bristol, which I helped set up, has launched a city-wide appeal for funding for ‘holiday hunger’ schemes this summer.
One in five children in Bristol receive free school meals during term time – the highest rate in the South West – and often go hungry during the long summer holidays.
Last year, with funding from the Government, Feeding Bristol helped provide meals for thousands of children during July and August. The Government is not giving us any funding this year, so we’re looking to businesses in the city to help us fund this critical work.
