Today is the 75th anniversary of D-Day – the Normandy landings marked a pivotal moment in the Second World War and led to the defeat of the Nazi regime. I pay tribute to the British and Allied troops who served during this period, including the many thousands who gave their lives. Without their sacrifice, the freedom that we now enjoy would not have been possible.
