Today marks the beginning of Carers Week, now in its 25th year and a chance to raise awareness of and celebrate the huge contribution made by those who provide unpaid care and support to family members, neighbours and friends.

We are lucky to have the fantastic Carers Support Centre based here in east Bristol, where I will be holding the third in a series of surgeries with carers from my constituency in August. Previous surgeries have resulted in my office being able to help carers and those being cared for recover significant sums in unpaid benefits, and the extra support they need.
