Government commits to 2050 as target date for net zero emissions, Kerry urges for further action

I welcome today’s announcement by the Government committing the UK to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. That said, we now need to see the detail given the Government isn’t set to meet existing climate targets and isn’t proposing any new legislation or investment. If we are to truly tackle the climate and ecological emergency we are facing then we must go further, faster.
