International Climate Action

In yesterday's statement on the recent UN Climate Summit, I challenged the Business Secretary on the Government’s announcement of £140m for forests, saying this counts for little when the UK’s imports of beef and livestock feed are contributing to the destruction of the Amazon rainforest. She said, much to my frustration, that this was a matter for Defra. It’s a climate change issue. Which is meant to be in her brief. I will carry on trying to get this across to her!
