A hostile political atmosphere and inflammatory language harms our democracy, leading to unnecessary division and even violence. Now more than ever, politicians – including our Prime Minister – must consider their own conduct and the consequences of their words and actions, in and out of the Commons chamber.

I support the More United campaign against language and behaviour that incites hatred and have signed up to the Parliamentary Code of Conduct committing to a better politics.
