Kerry McCarthy Labour MP for Bristol East
I stayed late in Parliament last night for the Adjournment debate on the Portishead Railway. The Portishead rail line is set to be reopened in the near future as a part of the MetroWest Scheme. The Government, North Somerset Council, and the West of England Combined Authority have all committed to providing the funding needed to complete this project, which is long overdue.
I also hope that re-opening St Anne’s Park Station will be seriously considered in future stages of MetroWest. The Greater Bristol Area Rail Feasibility Report should be released soon, and I look forward to seeing its findings.
