I really enjoyed my visit to Avanti School, Fishponds, to open their new library this week – thank you to the school for having me! It’s a lovely space they have created, which I’m sure will help encourage a love of books and reading for the children.

Teaching staff like those at Avanti have had a tough year, but have gone to great lengths to make sure their pupils continue to get an education, whether in school or at home. They deserve not just our thanks, but proper support and fair pay too.
