In this month’s column for Fishponds Voice (read here) I discuss the growing problem of mental health disorders among children. More young people have been showing symptoms of mental ill health over the past decade and waiting lists have only got longer. Some services are stretched to breaking point.

This is especially true for services for severely mentally ill children and those with complex or additional needs.

It’s good to see mental health trusts adopting new approaches to tackle the scale of this crisis, though I recognise that right now, many families still face significant delays in getting the right help.
