I enjoyed welcoming Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change and Net Zero, Ed Miliband, to St George earlier this week.

Ed was visiting Bristol to view the innovative work that is underway to make Bristol a carbon-neutral city by 2030, including visiting the Castle Park Energy Centre with Goram Homes and getting an update from Mayor Marvin Rees on City Leap.

Ed paid credit to Marvin’s leadership in tackling climate change and spoke about how the mayoral model has helped us deliver on the city’s priorities, including the 2030 Net Zero goal and building more affordable housing.

He then joined party activists in St George for some campaigning in support of the Bristol-wide campaign to retain the mayoral model in our city.

Make sure you are registered to take part in the referendum in May. You have until April 14th to sign up to vote, if you aren’t already on the electoral register.
