Kerry McCarthy Labour MP for Bristol East
Last week I joined Battersea Cats and Dogs Home to show my support for the animal rescue sector – and make a new furry friend in the process.
I know how strongly my constituents feel about animal welfare issues, and I will continue to push the Government to implement the strongest possible protections for animals in the UK.
The Kept Animals Bill will soon return to Parliament, and will help to address the challenges of puppy smuggling and ear cropping of pets. I’ll be doing what I can to ensure that Bill passes so those protections for cats and dogs can finally become law.
