I visited the Castle Park Heat Pump site today with members of my team and Bristol City Councillors, (all of whom looked great in pink Hi-Vis!)

It’s a brilliant project which uses a water source heat pump to distribute energy to the local network, heating homes and businesses. As a cheaper renewable alternative to gas, this will form a crucial part of our move toward Net Zero and Bristol’s own decarbonisation targets.

A decade of Government inaction on energy efficiency has left our energy market exposed to spiralling costs. Heat pumps form part of Labour’s long-term plan for our energy security: a plan that will also see £6bn of investment in home insulation every year until 2030, cutting household energy bills in the process. So it was great to see the Castle Park site in action!
