I’ve just returned from Labour Conference where I spoke at loads of great events and fringes, and heard inspiring speeches from Keir Starmer, Jonathan Reynolds, and Ed Miliband among others. There is a renewed optimism in the air. I talked to members and delegates of all ages, energised and excited about Labour’s plan for the country:

A green sprint to renewables with clean power by 2030, a publicly owned energy company, breakfast clubs for all primary school children, a plan to help 1.5million onto the housing ladder, nationalised railways, the 45p income tax rate restored for the highest earners, the largest NHS workforce expansion in a generation with 5000 new health visitors & 10,000 nursing and midwifery placements, a home insulation plan to slash bills and create jobs… a proper plan for a fairer, greener future.

As the pound tumbles and the Bank of England is forced to make an emergency intervention, people suffer. Liz Truss has left a vacuum of empathy and leadership.
The contrast couldn’t be clearer. A Tory party in disarray, wedded to trickle-down economics and austerity, and a Labour Party offering a vision for a country that works for working people.

The people of the UK cannot wait any longer, it’s time for a Labour Government.
